ALAINA KAI CHESTER
 
 

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alaina’s passion for film, theater, and music has been infused into her professional work from an early age. With a B.F.A in Acting from Ohio University School of Theater and B.S degree in Media Arts & Studies, Alaina continues to blend her creativity through performance.

Professional work includes multiple roles understudied Off-Broadway in Lincoln Center Theater’s FLEX, by Candrice Jones and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. Additionally, she was cast inside it’s development at the 2020 Humana Festival of New American Plays and it’s world premiere at TheaterSquared.

“My goal - dream - is to be part of the creative work of storytelling that inspires hope, positive change, and stretches the limits of our imagination. If I can do that, I’m living the dream I prayed for.”

Alaina understudied the lead role, Sheila, and various others in THE TREES at Playwrights Horizons, written by Agnes Borinsky and Directed by Tina Satter. She was part of a musical trio for a funky, fantasy-comedy play with music, created by composer Dave Malloy (Natasha Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and directed by Anne Washburn (Little Bunny Foo Foo).

Training has included spaces such as the renowned Professional Training Company program at Actors Theater of Louisville, during artistic direction of Les Waters. Alaina continues to study inside a multitude of classes around New York City, from theater to On-Camera, including She-Collective (NYC), OneonOne, Shakespeare with Heidi Griffiths (The Barrow Group), AdultFilm (NYC) with James Calleri, and more.
